On March 14 I came across an AU on TikTok with Shadow the Hedgehog being paralyzed (after he crashed on Earth) and then I did some extra searching and came across this paragraph of Gerald Robotnik's Journal from "Sonic X Shadow Generations":

"■■■ doesn't know the full scope of what ■■■■ has been designed for, but she understands he will be under tremendous strain. She's helped me conceptualize a number of accessories that will help focus his power and aid in his mobility."

As someone who needs to use mobility aid too I found this fact about Shadow very comforting. So I thought we could focus a bit on people with a disability for this Challenge.

You may use every person and/or character who has some sort of disability. This may not only go for visible disabilities but for invisible disabilities too. (Shadow is a good example for invisible disabilities too because he shows clear signs for PTSD.)

When creating icons that focus on the disability of the person and/or character please do so in a kind and respectful manner.

What a great challenge idea, I love it!

I very likely could have found more if I'd kept thinking about it longer, but once I hit on Sofiane from HPI (my current favorite show), I couldn't stop making icons of him. He's the cutest, and has a great sense of humor!

I chose the above people because they are very compassionate teachers/mentors with all whom they impart. Giles gets testy on occasion, but never without good reason and always out of tough love due to his own experiences.
I would also like to say thank you to all the compassionate teachers/mentors out there in RL who are making differences in people's lives. You need to know you are having more of an impact than you could possibly realize.

This was a really hard challenge! I realized a ways in that I need to choose real people for this. They inspire me and make me want to live up to their example.

Reasons

Rebecca Romijn is just an immensely decent human being, has a wonderfully humorous outlook on life, is a Star Trek fangirl, named one of her daughters after Dolly Parton, and her motto is "better crazy than boring". I followed her social media for years while I was watching The Librarians. Two more recent role models of mine: Jono and Alan from Cinema Therapy. Jono is a therapist who is unfailingly kind, his most important trait is accountability, and I love how open and sincere he is, even about things like his marriage (problems). Alan is a filmmaker who basically cries at every movie, and I love his vulnerability. Noteworthy to me is that they're both part of a religion that is anti-lgbt, and they have both explicitly renounced that stance, and I respect that a lot.

Earlier this week I came across with an old Land-Comm Challenge where we had to choose one characters to be represent in some way. And then I thought we could have something similar for Challenge 216. :o)

"A role model is someone who positively influences another person through actions and words. A good role model can come in many forms, such as mentors, family members and professional connections. Being a positive influence in the lives of others is a powerful form of representation."

For this Challenge you may go with every character or real life person that had a positive influence on you somewhen in your life. How you define this is totally up to you. :o) As long as it was something positive is fair game for this Challenge. Something like "I admire them and I want to be like them" also count. :o)

Here are some reasons why I choose those icons below:
- For the Challenge mentioned above I went with Moana because she went through some identity crises as well and didn't really know who she really was or where her place in this world was.
- Wanda Maximoff was my inspiration (and my favorite Cosplay) for many years because she was also a twin who lost her twin brother. Especially "Captain America: Civil War" helped me a lot after dealing with a bad episode of depression.
- On March 17th I found some graphic on Twitter that made Shadow the Hedgehog trans non-binary. :o) And, I mean, by definition he somehow really fit into that category. And enby Shad finally gave me the courage to be more open about me being transgender. (Not with all people I know but with a lot of them. My neurologist included who told me last week that he knew for long that I was transgender. ô__ô)
- Ryan Gosling was actually the reason why I thought about choosing Ryan as my new name. :o) All together he seems to be just a good guy to be around. :o)

I know this may be hard for some to choose 2 only. So for this Challenge you may go with 4 different Role Models instead. :o) Feel free to also give a reason why you choose those as your Role Models. <3
