Challenge #48 - Small or Underappreciated Fandom

My favorite small fandom will always be Farscape! Such a fun, quirky space opera with great characters. It's what first got me started on LJ and icons.

Oh my, I hadn't even thought of Farscape! You're right, it was always a niche fandom, wasn't it? Now I'm tempted to change my choice. I chose two tiny fandoms, but they're not so close to my heart, of course. (And I'm still dithering, I haven't made any icons yet.)

I really love the second one - it looks like a work of art - D'Argo framed. :D The coloring is wonderful, too.

Yeah, for some reason Farscape never made it into a huge mainstream success the way some other similarish shows like Battlestar Galactica and Stargate did. I think maybe Farsape was just too weird? Maybe the puppets turned people off (I love them btw), or maybe it's that it took at least a season to get from the alien of the week plots to the bigger overall arc that made the episodes feel more connected, but whatever it was people are seriously missing out!
